New Year’s Resolution ideas for senior caregivers in 2023

Happy New Year! Interim HealthCare is sharing seven New Year’s Resolution ideas for senior caregivers in 2023!

1. Take time for yourself

Set aside one hour each week to relax and do something you enjoy.

2. Ask for help

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, ask a family member or friend for help. Your senior loved one wants you to be healthy.

3. Get more sleep

Make time in your schedule to get more sleep. Try going to sleep a half hour earlier.

4. Be still and write a daily gratitude list

Take time each day to be still and write a gratitude list. Refer to the list throughout the day.

5. Breathe

Remember to breathe. As you’re reading this now, take a deep breath, hold it in for five seconds and exhale for ten seconds. Repeat five times.

6. Journal

At the end of the day, write down everything on your mind: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Give it away. The day is over. A new day will be here tomorrow.

7. Get paid as a caregiver for a family member

If you’re not already getting paid, visit https://www.usa.gov/disability-caregiver and go to the bottom of the page to review the possible ways you can “Get Paid as a Caregiver for a Family Member.”
